Why it costs less
Most Sarasota snowbird rentals are whole condos or homes listed around $1,700 to $4,500 a month, often with 60 to 90-night minimums in January to March. This is a furnished private room in a shared house for $1,000 a month, utilities and Wi-Fi included.
You are booking a room in a house, not a whole unit. That distinction matters as much as the price. A private room gives you your own place to retreat, while the house is shared. If you need an entire home to yourself, this is not that offer. The lower monthly figure should not be mistaken for a whole-condo rental.
How it works
Stays start at 30 nights. Book one month or the whole season. The room is near Siesta Key in Sarasota, Florida. Request your preferred winter dates and confirm availability before making plans. A listing is not a confirmed reservation; the details of your stay need to be agreed in writing.
The listed price is $1,000 per month, including utilities and Wi-Fi. Written booking terms explain any applicable taxes, deposits, or other charges before you commit. The exact address is shared after confirmation. If you have questions about accommodation details or accessibility needs, ask before accepting the arrangement.
No pets. No smoking indoors. Quiet hours are 10 pm to 7 am. These boundaries are part of sharing the house. Consider whether they fit the winter you have in mind before requesting dates. This is a longer stay in someone’s shared space, not a whole home for unrestricted use.

About the free week invitation
The Laid-Off Pass free week is NOT offered in Sarasota. It is available to those who qualify under our Free Stay Rules, not a separate retiree program. Sarasota is for longer stays only, outside the Laid-Off Pass. A paid room booking here and an application for a free week elsewhere are separate things. Paying for a stay does not improve your chances of selection for the Pass.
Free weeks apply to selected Laid-Off Pass guests in Comanche, Texas; Durrës, Albania; and Yunnan, China. Applicants must be US residents aged eighteen or older who were laid off within the last twelve months. One free week is offered each month across the network, with no guaranteed stay.
